why do you love working at Puzzle Pieces and doing the work you do
Personally, I feel Puzzle Pieces is the ideal clinic for occupational therapy to be the most effective. Puzzle Pieces and its clinicians emphasize a child-first approach and understand the importance of working with and educating families to allow their children to reach their full potential. Puzzle Pieces is immensely supportive of its staff and provides guidance and resources to its clinicians so that they can prepare “just right” challenges for our clients. I am so thankful Puzzle Pieces exists because it allows me to better myself every day. I feel most fulfilled when working with a child and trying to allow them to achieve their independence.
explain what you do at Puzzle Pieces
As an occupational therapist, my role is to help clients achieve their highest practical level of independence. At Puzzle Pieces, that means addressing needs in sensory processing, sensory defensiveness, self-regulation, motor coordination/planning, fine motor skills, handwriting, feeding, and activities of daily living. Occupational therapists use evidence-based practices and interventions to treat children through their main occupation, PLAY!
what do you like doing outside of work
My personal interests include playing basketball and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am a former college football player who is a huge Boston sports fan. I also enjoy listening to live music, cooking, and spending time with my friends and family.
