The Puzzle Pieces Spooktacular Is Back!

Halloween fun where kids can participate their way.

Join us for Puzzle Pieces 3rd Annual Puzzle Pieces Spooktacular, a free Halloween celebration designed to give kids and families a fun, welcoming, lower-pressure way to enjoy the holiday.

Explore our Not-So-Scary Haunted House, trick-or-treat from room to room, make Halloween crafts, play games, explore sensory activities, and show off your costume (if you’re comfortable!)!

The whole family is welcome, and you do not need to be a Puzzle Pieces client to attend.

What to Expect at the Spooktacular

This year brings new costumes, crafts, sensory experiences, movement activities, and plenty of Halloween fun.

🕸️ Not-So-Scary Haunted House

Our gross motor gym transforms into a kid-friendly haunted house with dimmed lighting, Halloween decorations, music, and a scavenger hunt challenge.

You won’t find jump scares, frightening imagery, or flashing lights here. Kids can explore at their own pace and decide how much they want to participate.

🍬 Trick-or-Treat Your Way

There is no one “right” way to trick-or-treat at Puzzle Pieces.

Kids do NOT need to say “trick or treat” to receive a treat. They can use AAC, gesture, hold out their bucket, communicate with support from a parent or caregiver, or take their time as they move through our room-to-room trick-or-treating experience.

All forms of communication are welcome.

✂️ Halloween Crafts & Activities

There will be something new to explore throughout the event, including:

  • Make-your-own haunted houses
  • Halloween bead jewelry
  • Halloween-themed sensory activities
  • Pin the Spider on the Web
  • Spider Web Throw
  • Movement activities
  • Room-to-room trick-or-treating

The Puzzle Pieces team will be showing off a whole new round of Halloween costumes this year.

No Pressure. Just Halloween Fun.

Halloween can be exciting, but traditional celebrations can also come with a lot of expectations. Wear the costume. Say “trick or treat.” Walk up to the door. Try the activity. Keep moving.

At Spooktacular, kids can participate in the way that works for them.

Wear a costume or come as you are. Jump into an activity or watch first. Communicate in whatever way feels comfortable. Explore the haunted house or skip it altogether.

Our team meets each child and family where they are. There is no pressure to participate in a sensory, communication, or activity experience that does not feel like the right fit.

Need a Break? That’s Okay, Too.

We know even fun events can become overwhelming.

A calming space will be available throughout Spooktacular for children and families who need some time away from the activities. We’ll also have small refreshments and water available for anyone who needs a snack or a break.

You are welcome to take your time, change plans, or simply enjoy the parts of the event that work for your family.

Why Puzzle Pieces Hosts Spooktacular

One of the things families have loved most about Spooktacular is its low-pressure, supportive environment, particularly for children who are still building comfort and regulation during busy holiday experiences.

That is exactly why we keep bringing it back.

At Puzzle Pieces, we want children and families to feel comfortable, supported, and free to be themselves. Spooktacular brings that philosophy into a community celebration where the goal is simple:

Let kids be themselves and have fun.

Before You Come

The whole family is welcome, including siblings, and you do not need to be a current Puzzle Pieces family to attend.

Registration is required so we can plan appropriately for everyone joining us, but your family does not need to stay for the entire event. Pop in and out anytime during event hours. All activities will be available throughout the event.

Parking is easy in our large parking lot.

And don’t forget to bring a trick-or-treat bucket!

Ready for Some Halloween Fun?

Join us for a Halloween celebration where costumes are optional, all forms of communication are welcome, breaks are encouraged when needed, and kids get to participate their way.

We can’t wait to celebrate our 3rd Annual Spooktacular with you!
